Equine Herpes Virus Update: Thank you for helping keep our horses safe. Unfortunately there are new cases in Orange County that have been reported and updated to the California Department of Food and Agriculture. The latest report shows (6) additional horses on premises in Orange County as of March 1, 2022. Two horses had previously been reported on February 28,2022. I encourage you to visit the CDFA website for up to date reports.
I also encourage you to contact your DVM to help educate yourself on EHV-1. Protocol recommends that you not ride outside our facility for trail rides, nor attend any outside events in Southern California.
Our sympathy goes out to anyone who has been affected by this horrible virus. We are very lucky to have no reported cases at the Coto Equestrian Preserve, and are taking all measures to prevent the virus from reaching our facility.
Trailer Parking: Please do not park in front of, or behind any of the horse trailers parked in the back parking area. We have had many cases of customers going to use their trailer, only to be blocked in by a parked car. All cars parked in front or behind a trailer are subject to being towed.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. (949) 683-6150.
